FAQ

We bring senior-level thinking and business owner experience to help guide and accelerate our clients towards business excellence. Whether your organization is for-profit or not-for-profit, whether large, medium, or small, our consultants are results driven and will give you the edge you need to succeed.

It’s as simple as giving us a call or contacting us here so that you can discuss your needs with us. We offer a free, no obligation discussion to understand specifically what you want and for you to decide if you want to work with us. Once we have a good understanding of the project and your needs, we will provide you with a proposal detailing estimated time and costs, project scope and a preliminary schedule.

Our fees vary widely from project to project.  Depending on the project and/or task, we charge a consulting fee on an hourly, daily, per project, or retainer basis. Typically, retainer based work will be at a better rate than an hourly or daily project. For extensive travel outside our local operating area there may be an added fee for expenses. Nearly everything we do is customized to our client’s needs, so we do not have a published fee schedule.  Please contact us if you would like to get an estimate or a proposal.

Absolutely not. We offer a one hour free, no-obligation meeting to discuss and understand your needs. Typically that will be a face-to-face meeting, however if distance is involved, we may suggest an electronic “meeting”.

At this time we do not accept credit card payments but may in the future. All of our services are invoiced in advance (due on receipt) and can be paid by cash or check. A variety of arrangements and terms are possible based on the type of engagement and estimate of the fees. For example:

  • Small Projects – Either 100% in advance or 50% down and 50% upon completion based on the total fee.
  • Large Projects – 50% down with 25% at a set milestone and 25% upon completion.
  • Hourly/Daily Projects – 50% down based upon estimated work and 50% upon completion.
  • Retainer Projects – 100% upon receipt of monthly invoice prior to work commencing.

Proven results! You can certainly check out our testimonials but here are some other reasons why we think you should “hire” us:

  • Hands-on – Our approach, unlike many other consulting companies, is to work closely with our clients to develop and implement solutions. We know the secret to success in the consulting game is not just coming up with good ideas, but successfully putting them into practice.
  • Integrity – Our continuing success is dependent on establishing and maintaining long-term trusting relationships with our clients and business partners. They must all be treated with dignity and respect.
  • Reliability – Our resources and efforts will be constantly focused on doing what needs to be done, with proper follow-ups, when we have given our commitment and our promise to deliver products and services to our clients.
  • Quality – Our products and services are developed and delivered with the highest practical level of quality or we will fix it at no cost to the client. They will never have to be concerned about it meeting their needs.
  • Value – Our fees reflect good value to our clients in what they receive and we strive to add personal value to all our associations with clients. If a client is not satisfied with work we have done, we will gladly waive any unpaid fees for that engagement.

We have many clients that have retained our services for several years or ask us back for other project assistance.

This depends on the project and the expertise required. In general and for most standard requests, we can begin at least some initial work within 5 business days after approval and/or down payment.  Requests that require specific or specialized skill sets may take somewhat longer.

That depends on the project and can vary widely. Deliverables could include simply a report, a series of recommendations, specific documents, plans, action items, or just guidance and advice. These are defined as part of the meetings we have with you before the project begins and could be added or changed during the project by mutual consent.

Some projects will have milestones that are dependent on both you and Excalibur Edge. Whenever possible, the project proposal will include a reference to the type of cooperation that will be required in order to successfully complete the project (such as a single point of contact within the organization, timely response to requests for information or decisions, and so on). In general, our project scheduling involves time to complete each task once other milestones have been completed. If decisions or delays on your part cause milestones to be missed, the project schedule may need to be adjusted to reflect that.

We always strive to minimize project costs.  Because of the type of work we are typically asked by our clients to perform, much of it must be face-to-face at your location.  If the situation allows or requires it, we can arrange to meet or consult with you via the use of teleconferencing and/or other electronic means.

We do not focus on any specific type of business but have project experience with clients in Retail, Manufacturing, Services, Health Care, Technology, Advertising, Distribution, Churches, Construction, Banking, Insurance, Sports & Recreation, Fine Arts, Non-Profits, and more.

Yes. If you are unhappy with our work at any time during the engagement of services, you will not owe any fees for completed work that has not been invoiced or for that aspect of the work you are not pleased with. Our company was founded in 2001 and not one client since then has used that guarantee because they have been dissatisfied with our work. Our reputation is extremely important to us so we protect it carefully with this guarantee.
